Garden

In my parents backyard there is this patch of dirt that is about 8 feet long and 4 feet wide. Various things have grown in this place...when I was a kid I remember this huge fern that grew so big that it scraped against the window when it was windy and I always thought it sounded scary. . One thing after another that "garden" didn't ever look all that pretty.

This spring, I was inspired. I headed out there and pulled on the weeds that had grown a long with the million little tiny palm trees that started growing because of all the seeds that blew off our tree, I turned up the soil and added some water and fertilizer. I found some interesting things as a raked through the soil, a rusty nail, a buried tennis ball, and I found a sprinkler pipe (and cracked it as well) oops sorry Dad!

I then planted Marigolds, and Cosmos seeds. And waited and waited...until slowly but surely my seeds grew :) I was so excited! Within 3 weeks I had sprouts and a month later, I have a full on flower garden! It was such a joy to wake up one morning and see the first pink flower! I spent every morning watering, weeding, and keeping the soil loose. I thank God for such a simple joy and how small yet still miraculous it is to see a tiny seed turn into a beautiful flower. It was the same awe that I get when I stand under the sky at night and gaze at the stars. How big God is, and how He puts everything in its place. As well as the process of a flower.

Just like that seed, we need to be planted in fresh healthy soil, a firm foundation, a place we can grow, God takes His time to water us with His word, shine His love, mercy and forgiveness on us, and we wait patiently for the process of sanctification as we are turned into something beautiful!

"Beautiful, Beautiful, Jesus is Beautiful and Jesus makes beautiful things of my life, carefully, touching me, causing my eyes to see, that Jesus makes beautiful things of my life."

Here are some pics of my garden!

Glorious

God is glorious, this song reminds me of how much the world around us reveals His love and glory. And how much I desire my life to be a "tribute to the ways in which He is glorious" Take a listen to this song by Ever Stays Red....

sick of being sick

Getting to work with kids is a blessing, and so much fun, but there are consequences: germs! Woo Hoo!! I have been fighting SOMETHING for 2 weeks and decided today that it was time to get into the doctor...as many of you know my trips to the doctor are always funny...and this one got major giggles from me. I went to a walk in clinic this morning around 11:30am, thank goodness there wasn't a lot of people in there because usually the waiting room is filled with 20+ people all coughing and sneezing. So I was told by the receptionist that I hadn't been there since 2004 and needed to fill out all new paperwork because my files had been archived. I then wait another half an hour for some reason, and was taken back to get my weight and height. So, I'm still as much as I weighed like 5 years ago, and apparently I grew an inch in the last month, I asked the gal if she wanted me to put my hair down, and she said "no I can work around it". So, not only do I weigh the same, but I grew an inch! Rock on. I'm then led into the ridiculously small room while I then wait..and wait...and wait...and listen to the seductive sounds of "SMOOOOTH jazz, 89.5" and giggle at how un-sexy it was that I was coughing up who knows what. Finally the doctor comes in and wants to shake my hand, and I look at him and say "are you kidding?" he responds with "it washes off". I finally leave at 12:45pm with Rx in hand and $25 less in my checking account.

Its been awhile!

Hey everyone, its been awhile since I've written on my blog...I've been extremely busy! I started working at my church with the children's ministries, and absolutely love it! I'm teaching mid-week classes as well as teaching Sunday school on the weekends! I also started as a part time photography assistant and teaching a once a week art class for kids! So I've been busy, and God has totally provided the jobs for me, and I am so thankful for that!

Meanwhile, I've been really focusing on my walk with the Lord, and have come to grips with a lot of new changes He is making in my heart :) Praise Him for the process of sanctification!

Thoughts

Thought #1...I deleted some of my older posts because I was angry. Yes angry, I was angry at a situation in my life and I wanted to go into hiding and not let anyone in. But at the same time I wanted everyone to know my anger. My anger at injustice. I feel like that is something I've struggled with all my life. Injustice. I can even go back to elementary school when a girl I walked to school with in the group of kids every morning would mock me for what I wore and when I snapped at her, I'd be the one in trouble. Fast forward to present day, its still happening. Its sad I have to admit and hurts my heart deeply.

Thought #2...I realized a few things recently, that I depend on people too much. I want someone in my life to understand me completely, to just fully take the time to understand my heart, to listen to me, and to support me, back me up, defend me, someone I know that no matter what, they'll be there. I'm expecting something of people that they just may not be able to provide, why? Because God is the only one who can provide such things, wholly and undoubtedly. I am so thankful for this peace knowing He knows my heart and sees every tear, and understands every bit of my emotions and feelings and desires and dreams. I won't lie though, I'm still in constant desire of someone in my life that I can literally run to and physically cry on their shoulder. Its hard when friends live a state away :) But I know God is teaching me something, utter dependence upon Him and Him alone....

Thought #3...I believe now more than ever that reconciliation is a must in the body of Christ, not only are we commanded, but life is simply too short and too precious to keep things unreconciled. I think if we all just stopped, allowed God to search our hearts, be introspective, pray and come to our senses, we would all treat each other a little better, and not only our world, but the body of Christ, would be that much more encouraging and that much more edifying. We are one body, we shouldn't be divided, angry, arguing, and allowing the enemy to kill our bond. I am guilty of this behavior as well...I pray, God search me and know my heart.

Thought #4...If I don't get off the computer now, my number of thoughts will turn into a book! So one last one. I want to pray for you, so please, email me, call me, text me, write me, send me some form of communication to let me know how I can be praying for you....
