Waiting on the Lord

We all come to a point in our life when we must wait on the Lord. We might be waiting for a job, where you send a dozen and then some resumes out to a million different places. We might be waiting for a direction from the Lord, where to move or if to stay. Others might be waiting to start a family, praying for the perfect timing in Him. And some are waiting on God to bring that right person to spend their life with. No matter what you are waiting on, the fact of the matter is, waiting and being patient is part of the Christian walk. God works in mysterious ways, He prepares the heart, grows the faith, convicts the sin, and sanctifies our lives through the waiting process. I've always had the tendency to rush, tapping my foot, wanting an answer or a remedy to fall on my lap. But when I've stepped back, prayed, surrendered things into the hands of a Mighty God, who is more then capable, my soul is at peace, knowing His timing is never a mistake.

Psalm 27:14
Wait on the LORD;
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the LORD!

So I've had a big dream for awhile now, to really get my photography out there in anyway possible (thanks Linds for requesting some) And so I'm going to start posting some of my pics on a regular basis, and if you see something you or someone you know might like just send them on over! I'm in the slow process of starting a website and I'll eventually have that up! Here are a few of my favorites pics of the month! Thanks everyone! Forgiven and Loved

I was on my way home from babysitting last night and heard this song and I just thought it was a great reminder of God's forgiveness and how He has paid it all!

Talking to guys...

Ok, so at one point in my life I didn't think I was all that bad in speaking to the opposite sex. Although recently I think I decided that I absolutely stink at it. Yesterday I was walking in the park with Molly, and spotted a very attractive young man walking his husky. Perfect opportunity right? Wrong. I was working up the courage to say something casual, a simple "nice evening huh?" or a "what a gorgeous dog" or "hows your week going?" well when the time came for us to cross paths, Molly started barking so I said "sorry about that" and kept walking. Go Kelly. I waited to see if he was going to walk around the park once more, yup woo hoo, second chance. But as soon as I got to the top of the hill he turned around. Lame....I went home thoroughly disappointed.

So then situation number 2 happened today. I went into the bank, good looking teller behind the counter, awesome. He asks "how was your holiday weekend?" I answered "uneventful, yours?" he answered "it was actually very eventful" I said "I'm jealous, all I did was eat!" He responds with "I guess that doesn't count as an activity unless you like to eat." I said "Oh I do!" then he asks "you Italian?" and I responded with "no barbeque". There was a moment of awkward silence as he says "well, um, I guess you bbq in the summer huh?" and nodding stupidly der I said "ya" and took my reciept and left. It wasn't until I was in the car that I realized he was asking me if I WAS Italian, not if I liked Italian food! DERRR. Go Kelly.

Jesus Paid it All

I hear the Savior say,
“Thy strength indeed is small;
Child of weakness, watch and pray,
Find in Me thine all in all.”

Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow

Lord now indeed I find
Thy power and Thine alone
Can change the lepers spots
And melt the heart of stone

It’s washed away
All my sin
And all my shame

And when before the throne
I stand in Him complete,
"Jesus died my soul to save,"
My lips shall still repeat

Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it white as snow.

Sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow

O praise the One who paid my debt
And raised this life up from the dead

We’ll praise the One who paid my debt
And raised this life up from the dead

Garden

In my parents backyard there is this patch of dirt that is about 8 feet long and 4 feet wide. Various things have grown in this place...when I was a kid I remember this huge fern that grew so big that it scraped against the window when it was windy and I always thought it sounded scary. . One thing after another that "garden" didn't ever look all that pretty.

This spring, I was inspired. I headed out there and pulled on the weeds that had grown a long with the million little tiny palm trees that started growing because of all the seeds that blew off our tree, I turned up the soil and added some water and fertilizer. I found some interesting things as a raked through the soil, a rusty nail, a buried tennis ball, and I found a sprinkler pipe (and cracked it as well) oops sorry Dad!

I then planted Marigolds, and Cosmos seeds. And waited and waited...until slowly but surely my seeds grew :) I was so excited! Within 3 weeks I had sprouts and a month later, I have a full on flower garden! It was such a joy to wake up one morning and see the first pink flower! I spent every morning watering, weeding, and keeping the soil loose. I thank God for such a simple joy and how small yet still miraculous it is to see a tiny seed turn into a beautiful flower. It was the same awe that I get when I stand under the sky at night and gaze at the stars. How big God is, and how He puts everything in its place. As well as the process of a flower.

Just like that seed, we need to be planted in fresh healthy soil, a firm foundation, a place we can grow, God takes His time to water us with His word, shine His love, mercy and forgiveness on us, and we wait patiently for the process of sanctification as we are turned into something beautiful!

"Beautiful, Beautiful, Jesus is Beautiful and Jesus makes beautiful things of my life, carefully, touching me, causing my eyes to see, that Jesus makes beautiful things of my life."

Here are some pics of my garden!
